Ditte Juul Jørgensen – Director General for Energy, European Commission

Ms. Ditte Juul Jørgensen is the Director-General for Energy at the European Commission, where she leads work to ensure access to affordable, secure and sustainable energy in Europe as part of the energy transition towards climate neutrality. Ditte Juul Jørgensen has more than 30 years’ experience in the European Commission, leading policy development, international negotiations and enforcement. She has worked in the fields of international trade, competition, sustainable development, climate and energy, and has also served as Economic Counsellor in the European Union Delegation to the United Nations in New York. In addition to her work in the European Commission, Ditte Juul Jørgensen has been teaching at universities to share a practitioner’s insights into energy and trade policy. In 2024, Ditte Juul Jørgensen co-chaired the UN Secretary-General’s Panel on Clean Energy Transition Minerals. Ms. Juul Jørgensen is a graduate in law from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, and the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium.
