
Fabien Roques – Executive Vice President, Compass Lexecon Paris and Head of the European Energy practice
Fabien Roques heads up Compass Lexecon European Energy practice in EMEA. He is an energy economist with over 20 years of experience and deep expertise of the energy and utilities sectors. Fabien’s expertise spans a range of contracting, state aid, litigation and regulatory issues.
In the nuclear sector, Fabien has worked on a range of projects regarding the structuring of the financing and contracting arrangements for nuclear plants investments, as well as state aid reviews with the European Commission.
Fabien has also been involved in a range of disputes and arbitrations regarding nuclear assets.
Previously Fabien has held positions with the International Energy Agency and with the energy consultancy IHS Cambridge Energy Associates, where he led the European power, gas and renewables team. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Cambridge and an M.Sc. in Engineering from Ecole Centrale Lyon.
Fabien is also an Associate Professor in economics at the Florence School of Regulation and with the University Paris Dauphine where he teaches and contributes to the research on electricity market design.
