
Lavinia Rizea – Nuclear Energy Attaché, Permanent Representation of Romania to the European Union
Ms Lavinia Rizea serves as Atomic Energy Attaché at the Permanent Representation of Romania to the European Union, bringing over 20 years of experience in the nuclear energy sector across both industry and government. In her current role, she is actively engaged in Council negotiations on key legislative files under the Green Deal and Euratom frameworks, with a particular focus on energy mix strategies, complementarities between energy sources, financing mechanisms, supply chain resilience, and fuel cycle issues.
Her previous roles include public communication and advocacy at SN Nuclearelectrica SA, Romania’s national nuclear energy company, and policy development at the Romanian Ministry of Energy. An established speaker at international conferences since 2006, Lavinia has shared her expertise across Europe and the United States and has held leadership positions in various industry associations and youth-focused initiatives.
She holds a degree in sociology and an MBA with a specialization in consulting management.
