Stefano Ciccarello – Head of Unit, Euratom Supply Agency

Stefano Ciccarello has been the Head of Nuclear Fuel Market Operation Unit of the Euratom Supply Agency (ESA) since 2018. In this capacity, he is implementing the EU Security of Supply policy for nuclear fuel, nuclear materials and services, including for research reactors and medical applications.

Prior to his current assignment, Mr. Ciccarello has extensive experience in a number of different management positions within the European Commission, which he joined in 1986. Formerly, he headed the Nuclear Material Accountancy and International Obligations Unit in the Euratom Safeguards Directorate of the European Commission – Directorate General for Energy and the Safeguards IT systems service of the same directorate.

Before becoming an EU official, employed in the private sector, Mr. Ciccarello was leading the elaboration of innovative IT solutions for public organizations and private associations
