Join us on 2 December for a nucleareurope workshop

This workshop will be held at the Hotel Le Louise Brussels (Avenue de la Toison d’Or 40,1050 Brussels) from 16.00 – 20.00 and will be followed by the traditional walking dinner.

With a large number of Member States announcing plans to extend the lifetime of existing reactors, build new nuclear capacity, and invest in advanced technologies such as small modular reactors (SMRs), the momentum behind nuclear energy is growing across the EU.

The workshop will take as a starting point the recently published Nuclear Illustrative Programme (PINC) published by the European Commission in June, which made clear that nuclear is essential to ensure an affordable and decarbonised energy, whilst at the same time ensuring our energy sovereignty.

The conversation will centre around how Europe can achieve its ambitious nuclear plans, including the construction of new nuclear power plants and fuel cycle facilities, as well as strengthening the European nuclear supply chain. It will assess issues relating to policies, financing and regulatory aspects – including for instance the EU Multiannual Financial Framework, the follow-up of the EU’s Clean Industrial Deal or the Roadmap towards ending Russian energy imports.
