Chief Nuclear Officer – Nuclear Energy Institute

Bill Pitesa is NEI’s chief nuclear officer. He is a veteran of the nuclear industry with 37 years of experience at Duke Energy Corp. He is responsible for executive oversight of all aspects of NEI’s nuclear operations including emergency planning, risk assessment, used fuel programs, radiation safety, environmental protection, and fuel and materials safety.

Pitesa earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Auburn University. He is a registered professional engineer in North Carolina and a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program.
