RESPONSIBILITIES

As Vice President of Engineering & Modifications and Chief Nuclear Engineer responsibilities included:

  • Responsible for leadership of all elements of Nuclear Engineering for OPG and for the OPG Nuclear modification portfolio
  • Administered a base budget of approximately 76M$ and a project budget of approximately 280M$
  • Ensured OPG Engineering programs meet applicable codes and standards
  • Lead and directed staff of approximately 700 to achieve high standards of performance in Engineering and the execution of projects and modifications
  • Chairperson for the Asset Investment Screening Committee

As Chief Engineer, Nuclear New Build responsibilities included:

  • Responsible as the OPG Design Authority for New Nuclear
  • Established the New Build Engineering organization
  • Provided technical, design and operations input to support Infrastructure Ontario in the selection of the preferred new nuclear technology option
  • Participated as the OPG member on the technical and integration subcommittees and ensured that OPG interests were maintained
  • Lead a group of technical experts to support the required technical and safety analysis review process for the design, licensing and environmental assessment of the selected technology
  • Established the Engineering and QA governance for the new build project

As the President and Chairperson of 2217313 Ontario Inc. responsibilities included:

  • Provided management consultation services for engineering and construction companies
  • Developed strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness when working with industry partners
  • Enhanced and strengthened business relationships and business development
  • Provided assessments to Nuclear Utilities to enhance effectiveness
  • Developed strategies for Nuclear Utilities to deal with emergent regulatory issues

As the Vice President – OPG Projects RCM Technologies responsibilities included:

  • Overall project management of engineering and nuclear procurement services to support the EPC Master Services Agreement with OPG
  • Ensure effective alignment with Construction lead partner
  • Establish business development opportunities to broaden scope of work
  • Acquisition of staff and engineering capabilities to support work flow

As the Vice President Engineering and Chief Engineer RCM Technologies responsibilities include:

  • Leadership for the RCM Canada engineering function
  • Approval of all engineered products for the Canadian RCM client base
  • Development and training of engineering staff
  • Ensuring engineered products meet Canadian codes and standards
