Section Manager, Quality Engineering, Refurbishment Engineering – Ontario Power Generation (OPG)

Kelly Reid, Section Manager, Quality Engineering, Refurbishment Engineering at Ontario Power Generation (OPG) and appointed Vice President of the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) governing council. Reid has over 20 years of nuclear engineering experience. She is currently working in quality engineering with her prime role being to increase proficiency in the Darlington Refurbishment Engineering Division. Prior to this she was responsible for a large portion of the Integrated Safety Review to support the Darlington Refurbishment and she managed a variety of important contracts for the Darlington Refurbishment project. At Pickering Nuclear Generating Station, she provided technical support to assess and manage nuclear safety risks. At PEO she is on the council that governs PEO’s 87,500 licence and certificate holders, and regulates professional engineering in Ontario to serve and protect the public interest. Prior to joining OPG, Reid worked at Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL), and at Nuclear Safety Solutions Limited (NSS). Reid graduated first division from the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton with a bachelor of applied science in chemical engineering, nuclear and power plant option.
