Dr. Herminia Román

Senior Manager, Nuclear Oversight – Ontario Power Generation

For the past four years, Herminia has worked as Senior Manager, Nuclear Oversight at Ontario Power Generation (OPG). Her organization is responsible for confirming the effectiveness of OPG’s Nuclear Management System through the performance of audits and assessments.

Herminia has an accomplished 27 years career with OPG which has provided her with a diverse experience in radiation safety, safety analysis, engineering, radioactive waste management, spent fuel management, licensing, regulatory affairs, and nuclear oversight. She holds a B.Sc. degree in Nuclear Physics, a M.Sc. degree in Accelerator Physics and a Ph.D. degree in Nuclear Physics.

Herminia has collaborated internationally with the IAEA as a spent fuel expert for the IAEA expert mission to Atucha I in Argentina.
